Rev. David Rowe - Teaching Elder
Reverend David Rowe grew up across the river in Yardley, Pennsylvania and spent many an hour in Princeton working on a student public affairs show at WPST radio. After attending Ithaca College in upstate New York for a Communications degree, David began working WABC radio producing various talk shows and NY Jets radio broadcasts. After a brief stint at the ABC Radio Networks, he moved over to the television side and worked in the ABC Entertainment division of the network for 6 years.
It was during this period that David was invited to Redeemer Presbyterian Church in Manhattan, and the Spirit moved him to receive Christ as both Lord and Savior in the autumn of 1994. He left broadcasting in 1997 to attend Westminster Theological Seminary in the Master of Divinity/Counseling program. David married his wife Awilda at Christmas time in 1998. They love film and travel, both of which they have enjoyed with far less frequency since the birth of their twins, Ethan and Olivia, in September of 2000.
Rev. Shawn Doud - Teaching Elder
Shawn was born and raised in Southern California where his parents brought him up in covenant community where he was blessed to hear the Gospel early and often, benefiting from discipleship and constant encouragement. After graduating high school he attended John Brown University in Northwest Arkansas (B.A., Youth Ministry), Dallas Theological Seminary (Th.M. Historical Theology) and later completed a counseling program through CCEF (Westminster Seminary-Philly). He joined the PCA in 1994 and was ordained in 2000. He has served in various pastoral roles at churches in Arkansas, Texas, California and Canada. A highlight of his ministry is the short-term missions he's been part of in Canada, Mexico and the UK. Just prior to coming to Hope Church, he counseled missionaries and staff at a Christian humanitarian mission and led worship at a PCA church in San Jose, CA.
Shawn loves music (playing guitar and listening), British humor, reading, hiking, DIY projects, his two cats, documentaries, sci-fi and home improvement TV shows and making up new goofy nicknames to call his children. He loves Mexican food, coffee, sushi and anything related to Ireland. Shawn has been married to Nancy (a professional photographer) since 1997. They have four sons: Burke, Tucker, Trevor and Cooper.
